Beach mandala group“Let’s make a Grand Sextile Mandala on the beach,” I emailed mandala-making friends. They showed up with flowers, herbs and shells on July 29, 2013 at 12:12 PM. After a short ceremony, declaring our intention of expansion of divine consciousness in our own lives and on the planet with the mandala, we began. I had drawn a 12′ 6-pointed star, or Star of David, in the sand, and everyone followed the design, placing items they had brought and adding what they found on the beach. Good friend, mandala maker and wonderful intuitive astrologer Rob Ryan had called me the day before to offer his expertise on the big day. He had meshed my chart with the Grand Alignment Chart and what a gift! He said I would be helping everyone find beauty and art in the mandala as well as in what they picked up on the beach. He offered that the day would be one of big changes, “If you have been doing something in your life which doesn’t serve you, this is the time to stop and make a change.” He said what was picked up on the beach would be symbolic of how to make one’s personal change and move out of the old way of doing things.

It was a lovely, powerful and extraordinary day as we created beauty, art and community. As we finished, dolphins swam by, which we had called earlier to come and join us!

Here is the story of the Grand Sextile Beach Mandala in pictures.
